Batch pH neutralization systems

Absolute precision and maximum safety for batch wastewater treatment

For containment laboratories, R&D facilities, or production units that generate variable and intermittent volumes of wastewater, batch treatment stands out as the most reliable and safe solution on the market.

Actini BNS (Batch Neutralization Systems) are designed to collect, isolate, and neutralize your acidic or basic effluents completely autonomously. This process ensures that no liquid discharge leaves your facility and enters the municipal sewer system without first being rigorously analyzed, treated, and validated in accordance with your region’s environmental regulations.

How the BNS model works

Actini’s batch treatment cycle is based on a fully automated and secure sequence that eliminates any risk of human error:

1. Effluent collection

Process or wash wastewater is conveyed to and stored in the polyethylene neutralization tank.

2. Agitation and measurement

Once the treatment volume is reached (or according to a scheduled timeline), the agitator homogenizes the mixture, and the industrial sensor takes a precise measurement of the initial pH.

3. Automated adjustment

The PLC sequentially injects the necessary chemical reagents (acid or alkali) via regulated metering pumps.

4. Validation and discharge

Once the target pH has stabilized and been validated by the PLC, the outlet valve opens and the neutralized batch is safely discharged into the sewer system.

Customization options and advanced configurations

Every project in Canada presents unique challenges. That’s why the BNS series offers custom engineering options:

  • Redundant neutralization tanks (dual-system): Allows you to continuously accumulate your effluent in a second tank while the first tank completes its treatment and discharge cycle, thereby preventing any interruption to your operations.
  • Plate heat exchanger: Ideal if your effluent exceeds the temperatures permitted by municipal regulations (generally above 60 °C / 140 °F). The system actively cools the batch before discharge.
  • Electrical cabinet and local automation (HMI): User-friendly touchscreen that allows you to monitor treatment cycles, adjust pH setpoints, and communicate directly with your building’s building management system (BMS).
  • Reagent safety cabinets: Secure storage for drums of acid and caustic soda with built-in spill containment trays to prevent any risk of accidental spills onto the factory floor.
